The History of NLP
Tapping into your hidden potential...
Neuro – how experiences are received and processed using our five senses. See, hear, feel, smell and taste.
Linguistic – Language and Communication used to code, give order and make meaning of our experience.
Programming – Organise our communication, replace old patterns to gain results.
NLP originated in the seventies when John Grinder and Richard Bandler observed and modelled the behaviour of two top psychotherapists, Virginia Satir and Fritz Perls, and one of the worlds famous Hypnotherapists, Milton Erickson . All three showed similar patterns although they had their individual unique styles - resulting in excellent performance.
Modelling continues to be the centre of development for NLP in the world today. From this design, everyone is now able to improve their own performance, become excellent communicators and to undergo personal change and development.
NLP has been described as the technology of the mind, the science of achievement and the study for success. NLP has identifed the difference between the behaviours of people who are competent at a particular skill and those who are excellent at it.
Most of us may think that we are unable to control how we feel. That's not true. Once you know how your mind works you are then able to gain control over your feelings. NLP has some very effective ways of working towards desired outcomes, for example, it can help you understand and overcome situations in your past.
Identitying beliefs and values in a person’s behaviour is important for success, it enables the achievement of results. In the same way, that much of the quality of our lives comes down to the quality of our communications. Indigo NLP will help you discover how to develop rapport with people in matters of seconds, understand how different people respond differently to certain words, know how to handle difficult people, and how to influence more effectively.
